I know that some of you are unsure about how to submit articles so I’ve put together some Q & A and a fun video (enjoy – be warned you may find it offensive!) to help you. If you have any further questions please use the contact form.

Q. Can I submit articles to BB Articles?

A. Yes if you are an approved author

Q. How do I become an approved author?

A. Sign up as a subscriber then use the contact form to send me your sign up details, a copy of the first article that you want to submit and your author bio with links. I will check your article and upgrade your account to author and publish your article if it complies with the author guidelines.

Q. How long do I have to wait before my account is approved?

A. Usually within 24 hours. Bear in mind that this site is run from the UK

Q. How Do I Submit Articles

A. Once you have had an email approving your account you can log in using the username and password that you signed up with. After that click on ‘Site Admin’ which you will find at the top of the page. Then click on posts – left of the page, then ‘add new’. There you will find the article submission form.

Q. What Do I Fill In

Your title should go in the top submission area. Article Body and author bio in the large submission area. Then you should add either an excerpt from your article or introduction in the ‘Excerpt’ area. That should be a couple of sentences long. Remember that the excerpt goes on the front page initially and that is what is seen in the feeds and on Twitter and the other sites that we bookmark to. Bearing that in mind your excerpt should invite others interest enough to click on the link and read more.

On the right of the page you will see ‘Post Tags’. Enter your tags or keywords there, don’t forget to click on ‘Add’ Your keywords or tags should reflet your article content not your author bio.

To give your articles an extra boost I have added an extra called ‘all in one SEO’. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find it there. It’s an optional extra but advisable to use it. Just add your title, excerpt and keywords.

Another aid is just above All in one SEO. Find suggested tags Local Tags, Yahoo or Tag The Net. If you click on them they will suggest tags found within the article and those tags appear where it says Tags (Simple Tags) at the top right.

Q. How long will it take for my articles to be approved?

A. Your articles will appear online instantly, but articles will still be checked daily and if they don’t comply with our submission guidelines they will be deleted and the author accounts closed.

Q. Should I use my own name or a penname?

A. Personally I prefer to add my name to my own articles. Some authors use a pen name, but I would never use anything but a proper name and for 2 reasons:

a. I feel that anything but a proper name can affect credibility and we are promoting businesses with article marketing.

b. Most authors submit their articles to several article directories. If you use a pen name such as magicmushroom3 to submit to BB Articles or another directory that is quick with approvals and then use a proper pen name or your own name to directories that don’t allow pen names you could end up being accused of plagiarism. It’s best to remain constant with the same name to avoid that happening.
